Mohawk is looking for a Tufting Machine Operator in the Dalton, GA area. In this role, you’ll operate a level loop, patterned loop, cut pile or enhanced graphics tufting machine.

• Operate tufting machine (e.g., threading and/or replacing needles, replacing cutting blades, aligning cutting blade block, hook replacement).
• Conduct machine set up checks (production checklist, “deck board” and backing verification).
• Compare tufted carpet to griege standard and side/center/side match.
• Perform quality inspection during production runs, mend voids in carpets as required.
• Change backing as required.
• Do off carpet rolls as required.
• May drive forklift when required.
• Stay informed of applicable OSHA and company guidelines and operating procedures, and proactively identify unsafe working, building, and other environmental conditions to supervisor or appropriate department head for resolution.
• Ensure compliance with all company and regulatory safety and environmental guidelines and practices, including wearing appropriate safety garments and using the appropriate tools and equipment.
• Attend any job‑related training deemed necessary by supervision.
• Follow all established standard operating procedures.
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary.
• Perform other tasks assigned by management.

• High school graduate or GED equivalency preferred.
• Prior experience operating tufting machine equipment required, and/or equivalent combination of on‑job training and work experience.
• Reads and writes in standard English and can perform basic math calculations such as addition and subtraction.
• Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training.
• May be required to use PC and other department‑specific database systems.

• Ability to communicate in standard English to understand and follow verbal or written instructions, keep simple records, and make reports.
• Ability to work well with people.
• Ability to maintain an acceptable level of attendance in accordance with company and department guidelines.
• Ability to perform specific duties with instructions but without direct supervision.

• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
• Must be able to walk long distances, climb ladders, and stand for long periods of time.
• May be required to bend, crouch, and stoop.
• Must also be able to work in non‑climate‑controlled facilities.
• Work environment is a noisy, high‑traffic production floor.
• May be required to work a flexible schedule to include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Willing to work in all types of weather.
