Security Guard Green Street Dalton GA B Shift
We’re seeking a dedicated Security Guard to monitor traffic in and out of the plant and office complex, patrol plant and office areas, and provide access control assistance.
Responsibilities- Monitor and control entry/exit of personnel, visitors, and vehicles at facility.
- Assist with monitoring, reporting, and responding to security and safety incidents.
- Monitor departments two‑way radio system.
- Conduct plant, parking lot, and grounds rounds/tours.
- Maintain and configure security technologies.
- Monitor cameras, access control, fire system and other equipment continuously.
- Provide access control assistance to multiple facilities.
- Locks and unlock doors according to schedules.
- Facilitate planned drills, events, and simulations.
- Log all required vehicles entering/exiting grounds and direct them as necessary.
- Ensure that all calls are answered promptly and handled professionally.
- Complete daily activity reports, logbook entries, and all relevant reports related to job assignment.
- Respond to incidents of inclement weather, bomb threat, fire, medical emergency, vehicle, and other incidents.
- Check truck seals on containers as required.
- Provide parking control for office complex and plant areas.
- Answer phone outside of normal business hours and direct calls as needed.
- Assist in keeping work areas clean and orderly.
- Conduct DOT Drug & Alcohol tests.
- Attend any job‑related training deemed necessary by supervision.
- Follow all established standard operating procedures.
- Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary.
- Perform other tasks assigned by management.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Interpersonal and judgement skills.
- Must be detail oriented and possess excellent follow‑up skills.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels in the organization including customers.
- Working knowledge of computers and good typing skills (Outlook, Webmail, MS Word, Excel, AS400 & electronic mail required).
- Working knowledge of any security systems, fire systems, camera systems, and other such equipment.
- Must be able to read and write legibly.
- Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.
- Must be able to motivate and work well with others.
- Willing to work nights, weekends, holidays, and call‑ins.
- Must have and maintain a valid state’s driver’s license.
- Must have and maintain personal vehicle insurance coverage.
- Must have a clear driving record for the past five (5) years.
- Must have good attendance and performance record.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and climb stairs.
- Occasionally required to look at reports and cameras.
- Ability to manage time effectively.
- Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to drive, stand, and walk for entire shift on various times/places.
- Neat and professional appearance in uniform.
- Ability to perform in a high‑pressure environment and/or crisis and render good decisions to resolve problems.
- Must be able to work 12 hr shifts either day or night, weekdays, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
- This position has the responsibility and authority to report to management any safety problems and potential problems encountered while performing the job.
- Work in an office environment.
- Occasionally work in a normal industrial environment with inherent background noise, dirt, humidity, and temperature variations.
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving vehicles and equipment.
- Frequently exposed to outside weather conditions.
