Job SummaryThis position is responsible for performing skilled work in the maintenance of campus buildings.

- Performs carpentry repairs.
- Repairs roofs and gutters.
- Repairs ceiling tiles.
- Repairs floors.
- Paints interior and exterior surfaces.
- Performs glass and window repairs.
- Repairs signage.
- Welds and fabricates parts and equipment.
- Repairs fences.
- Changes HVAC filters and belts.
- Pressure washes buildings, patios, and walkways.
- Sets up and relocates furniture.
- Operates a variety of equipment and hand and power tools.
- Maintains tools and supply inventory; makes purchases as needed.
- Maintains and repairs tools and equipment.
- Assists in setting- up for special events.
- Provides assistance to other department personnel as needed.
- Performs custodial maintenance as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Required ExperienceMore than two years of related experience required.
Other Required QualificationsPossession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities KNOWLEDGE- Knowledge of facilities maintenance principles and practices.
- Knowledge of best practices and safety procedures.
- Knowledge of carpentry repair and construction principles.
- Skill in the safe and efficient operation of a variety of hand and power tools.
- Skill in decision making and problem solving.
- Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
