Lead PHP/Laravel Engineer | Help Modernize Core Data & Rights Systems (Hybrid SF)

Salary: $140,000 – $165,000 per year

We are an innovative Entertainment startup focused on modernizing backend systems that power global data and rights management. The engineering team is rebuilding its legacy applications in Laravel to create faster, more reliable, and more automated workflows.

The Lead Engineer focused on Publishing will play a key role in this transformation, overseeing backend development, API design, and system migrations. This role is ideal for an experienced PHP engineer who enjoys working with data‑driven systems, third‑party integrations, and performance optimization.

• 6 years of backend engineering experience with PHP and Laravel
• Strong experience with system migrations, data modeling, and API integrations
• Familiarity with JavaScript for light frontend integration or API testing is a plus
• Proven ability to work with legacy codebases and refactor for modern frameworks
• Hands‑on experience building data‑intensive or transactional systems
