Job Purpose: Support the Finance Manager by strengthening financial governance, internal controls, and cost management across the organization. The role is responsible for providing independent financial oversight over accounting activities, procurement, manufacturing costs, inventory, project profitability, and commercial agreements while ensuring compliance with company policies and financial standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and strengthen financial governance and internal controls across all business functions.
- Review and evaluate all major Purchase Orders (POs) and Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) requests to ensure financial justification, compliance with company policies, appropriate approvals, and cost effectiveness.
- Review and control significant accounting entries, adjustments, and approval processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to company policies.
- Validate Bills of Materials (BOMs), manufacturing costs, and production cost allocations to ensure costing accuracy.
- Review inventory balances, material consumption, inventory aging, and slow-moving stock, recommending corrective actions where necessary.
- Monitor project and job profitability, investigate cost variances, and support margin improvement initiatives.
- Monitor the financial performance of Procurement, Supply Chain, and Warehouse operations to improve cost efficiency and inventory control.
- Review the financial and commercial terms of major customer and vendor contracts and provide recommendations prior to final approval.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, internal audits, and external audits.
- Prepare financial analyses, management reports, and KPI dashboards to support business decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, and operational efficiency.
- Review and challenge the number of active vendors, payment terms, and commercial arrangements to optimize supplier management, strengthen financial controls, and ensure alignment with company policies.
Skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA, CMA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent professional certification.
- Minimum 10-12 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting.
- At least 3-5 years in a Financial Controller, Chief Accountant, Financial Analyst or similar leadership role.
- Experience in manufacturing, engineering, industrial services, or project-based organizations .
