Electrical Cost Estimating Engineer

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Cost Estimating Engineer to lead the cost estimation process for mechanical works (Electrical (HV, MV, LV), Low current systems, ELV) on diverse building and infrastructure projects, ensuring accurate, competitive, and profitable bid submissions.

• Bid Analysis & Take-Off:
  Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and BOQs to perform detailed quantity take-offs for all mechanical systems.
• Obtain, analyze, and negotiate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Technical Review:
  Conduct thorough reviews of mechanical designs to identify potential cost savings or risks.
• Proposal Preparation:
  Prepare and compile technically sound and commercially competitive bid proposals (both technical and financial sections).
• Market Analysis:
  Stay updated on market rates, material costs, labor costs, and industry trends.
• Coordination:
  Collaborate with project managers, design engineers, and commercial teams.
• Identify and quantify potential risks and opportunities within bids.
• Software Proficiency:
  Utilize estimation software and AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, Revit, and advanced Excel functions.
• Post-Award Support:
  Assist the project team during the project execution phase with cost control and variation orders.

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• +6 years of relevant experience in cost estimation for MEP works in building construction and infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems works (Electrical (HV, MV, LV), Low current systems, ELV).
• Proven track record in tendering for large-scale projects.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong negotiation and communication (written & verbal) abilities.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, Revit.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
