Materials Engineer
CCL Global is seeking for a Western Expat only for a PMC Project having experience in performing the function of guiding and managing a team of contractor’s discipline engineers.
One year contract which will be extendable up to 5 years.
5 years of oil and gas experience within the GCC region is required.
Key responsibilities will include preparation of FEED/Detailed Engineering Design philosophies/Design Basis, Material Selection Reports, Material Selection Diagrams, Corrosion Control Documents, etc. Good knowledge and experience in Cathodic Protection deliverables including CP Design Calculations.
Job Responsibility and Requirement
- Prepare Material Selection Reports, Material Selection Diagrams, Materials Selection & Corrosion Control Philosophies, Corrosion Monitoring & Chemical Injection Philosophies, Cathodic Protection Scope of Work, Material Take Off and Design Calculations.
- Perform corrosion rate modelling using industry recognized corrosion modelling software such as ECE 5.8 (minimum) as part of the material selection process.
- Produce calculations and technical reports as per project requirements.
- Application and Knowledge of the relevant Industry Standards/Recommended Practices such as NACE MR0175/ISO 15156, MR0103/ISO 17495-1.
- Good knowledge of Corrosion Risk Assessment studies and Material & Corrosion Audit process.
- Define corrosion control and mitigation strategies as part of the material selection process.
- Providing materials and corrosion input to other disciplines deliverables, including static equipment datasheets, rotating equipment datasheets, Piping Material Specification, Piping MTO’s, P&IDs.
- Provide input to proposals and prepare the manhours’ estimates relating to the Materials & Corrosion Deliverables.
- Keep abreast with the latest trends and advancements in material science and corrosion engineering, proactively integrating new technologies and methods into design processes.

Mandatory bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy/Materials Science/Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
