Job Description

Experienced Sr. Structural Engineer - Design with expertise in large-scale airport or infrastructure projects under PMC environments. Skilled in structural analysis/design using STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAP, and IDEA Stati Ca in compliance with AASHTO LRFD and international standards. Strong background in design review, multidisciplinary coordination, technical leadership, and construction support for complex infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee the structural design review and coordination activities for airport infrastructure projects under the PMC framework, ensuring compliance with project specifications, international standards, and client requirements.
  • Review and validate structural and bridge design calculations, drawings, and technical submissions prepared by consultants and contractors in accordance with AASHTO LRFD Specifications and applicable codes.
  • Conduct structural analysis and design assessments for reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, structural steel, masonry, and other structural systems subjected to static and dynamic loading conditions.
  • Utilize advanced structural engineering software such as STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAP, and IDEA Stati Ca to evaluate structural integrity, constructability, and overall design efficiency.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, roadway, geotechnical, architectural, and MEP disciplines to ensure seamless integration of structural design within airport development projects.
  • Review bridge construction methodologies, shop drawings, material submittals, engineering computations, quantity take-offs, and cost estimates to ensure technical accuracy and compliance.
  • Support engineering investigations, feasibility studies, value engineering exercises, risk assessments, and constructability reviews for complex airport and roadway structural systems.
  • Monitor contractor and consultant performance related to structural engineering deliverables, ensuring adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to junior engineers and design teams while ensuring effective implementation of engineering procedures, CAD standards, and project documentation practices.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, design review comments, and engineering recommendations to the client and project stakeholders while maintaining effective verbal and written communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Informs themselves of the relevant Quality, Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health Policies, Manuals and Procedures within Hill International and ensures continued compliance with these requirements while employed by Hill.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager/supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 15 years minimum experience in large-scale Roadway projects, including having overall responsibility for bridge/structural engineering on large-scale projects.
  • Experience in the design of highway bridges incorporating best practices and AASHTO LRFD Specifications. Must have excellent proficiency in STAAD Pro/Etabs/Idea Statica and SAP or similar.
  • Conducts analysis and design of industrial structures that support or resist static and dynamic loads. Structural engineering typically includes design and analysis of structures composed of materials such as Structural Steel, Reinforced Concrete, Prestressed Concrete, Wood Framing and Masonry to account for code required loads and load combinations to ensure adequacy of the structure against failure.
  • Experience conducting engineering investigations including feasibility studies, cost and risk analyses; experience in preparing bridge construction plans and specifications; experience using advanced bridge analysis/design software; experience in preparing engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates; experience in the review of shop drawings.
  • Knowledge of industry/regulatory codes and standards, and design and / or layout criteria pertinent to the discipline.
  • Skilled in verbal and written communication.
  • Knowledge of engineering procedures, design guides, automated and administrative practices. Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of application and coordination of 2-D and 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools on a project.
