Lead Engineer - Fleet Management

Lead Engineer – Fleet Management, responsible for supporting the operation and maintenance of heavy‑duty gas turbines, aero turbines, centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, and their control, protection and accessory systems. The role focuses on providing timely technical solutions for heavy‑duty, aero‑derivative, and compressor control systems, as well as motor issues in EMCC‑driven trains.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to customer technical requests and resolve issues using product knowledge, analytical skills, and engineering principles.
  • Escalate problems, acting as liaison between field and design engineering to drive resolution and corrective actions.
  • Maintain relationships with customers, ensuring their technical requirements are understood and addressed promptly.
  • Lead and program‑manage root cause analysis and investigation activities for product technical issues.
  • Provide technical leadership to teams supporting project‑assigned customer issues.
  • Prepare technical presentations for leaders and customers, communicating significant issues and developments.
  • Travel to customer locations to support technical review meetings, unplanned outages, and sales proposals.
  • Oversee technical engineering during planned outages to achieve reliability and availability goals.
  • Coordinate with design engineering and suppliers to implement fleet program solutions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Control & Instrumentation, Electrical & Electronics, or equivalent.
  • 8‑10 years of experience in design, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of heavy‑duty, aero‑derivative, and compressor control systems, including motor issues in EMCC trains.
  • Strong knowledge of MarkVI, MarkVIe, MarkVIeS, and compressor control systems.
  • Knowledge of VFDs, motors, and protection.
  • Willingness to travel 20–25% of the time and work weekends for emergency support.
Desired Characteristics
  • Experience in a matrix leadership environment.
  • Background in design engineering or field maintenance/customer‑service roles.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Strong decision‑making skills based on data in global, matrix organizations.
  • Self‑starter with strong analytical, problem‑solving, oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English; preference for Arabic speakers.
