Design Engineer

Job Overview

The Design Engineer is responsible for producing engineering deliverables that support accurate EPC quotations, project execution, and client technical compliance within the Costing & Design Department. This role involves preparing piping drawings, engineering calculations, BOQs, and technical documentation while ensuring compliance with applicable industry codes, client specifications, and company standards. The position works closely with Costing, Sales, SAP, and Project teams to support technically sound and commercially efficient project execution.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university.
• Additional training or certification in Piping Design, Structural Analysis, or CAD software is an advantage.
• 1–4 years of experience in mechanical or piping design engineering.
• Proven experience preparing GA drawings, piping isometrics, spool drawings, and engineering calculations.
• Experience in GRP, GRE, GRV, or composite piping systems is highly preferred.
• Previous exposure to EPC projects within oil & gas, water, desalination, or petrochemical industries.
• Familiarity with ARAMCO, SABIC, or SWA engineering standards is an advantage.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D drawing production.
• Experience with PDMS, SP3D, or similar 3D modeling software is a plus.
• Ability to read, interpret, and extract quantities from piping isometric drawings and P&IDs.
• Sound understanding of piping codes and standards such as ASME B31.3, AWWA C950, ISO 14692, and ASME RTP-1.
• Knowledge of GRP/GRE/GRV materials, pressure classes, stiffness classes, and resin types.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills for engineering calculations and quantity take-offs.
• Familiarity with SAP document management systems is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in drawings and calculations.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills in English.
