Field Service Engineer

The opportunity

Working as Field Service Engineer to execute the installation, testing and commissioning activities at customer sites or Hitachi Energy projects related to HV products, including third‑party HV products if applicable and authorized by Hitachi Energy management.

• Active participation in site activities and visiting the customer site for installation, testing and commissioning of Hitachi HV GIS, GCB, LTB, DTB and other equipment as and when required or assigned by the line manager.
• Coordinate/interface with tools management department and take care of HV tools, arrange and properly use Hitachi Energy HV test equipment and tools to execute site activities for HV product installation, testing and commissioning, protection and control.
• Complete GIS installation and GIS compartment assembly work, minor fabrications if required, troubleshoot and rectify HV product defects workable at customer site and advise the action plan if repair work need to be carried out in Hitachi Energy factory or workshop. Supports the work activities of PGHV Service at site, or at customer workplace.
• Learn and perform the test equipment operation used for HV product testing and maintenance work at site, customer premises or Hitachi Energy workplace. Learn how to use tools used for HV product service jobs.
• Work with Project Management team on various projects as and when required with full compliance of PM requirements and maintain discipline advised by the PM or customer site regulations.
• Lead the contractor or sub‑contractor during job execution and coordinate with customer and back‑office support for any resource requirements to complete the job. Get the PAC or timesheets signed by the customer after completion of assigned task that can be used to invoice the customer.
• Prepare and provide site reports, activity plans and resource requirements and share them with the PM, line manager or supervisor.
• Follow the company rules and regulations, display good behavior at office and at site, any safety or integrity incident should be reported to line manager, supervisor or project manager. Implement value in day-to-day activity or task.
• Prepare and submit weekly and monthly timesheet, expense report as per company guidelines in timely manner, prepare travel authorization prior to starting the travelling for site or deployment.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

• A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Previous experience of 3-4 years in high voltage products, electrical equipment, switchgears, HV switch gear protection and control, monitoring and measuring devices, industries or utilities companies.
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English & Arabic language is required.
