Lead Engineer- Field Services

Lead Engineer will be responsible for onsite installation of motors and generators systems and equipment and ongoing preventive maintenance, repair and calibration after installation. Also provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair and maintenance at customer's sites.

• Perform on-site installation, commissioning, refurbishment, startup, maintenance, troubleshooting and upgrading of medium voltage synchronous and induction motors, generators, excitation and AVR systems; with knowledge of medium voltage variable speed drives systems.
• Respond to requests for emergency repairs and services.
• Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair and maintenance at customer sites.
• Write technical reports, order materials, secure quotations, prepare job status reports, customer reports, timesheets and expense sheets on a complete, timely, and thorough basis.
• Provide leadership and technical direction to skilled labor performing work on customer sites.
• Maintain a strong safety mindset to ensure work reflects technical requirements and GE safety standards.
• Prepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and reference for future outages.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university (Electrical Engineering preferred).
• Minimum 7 years of field service experience with medium voltage motors, generators, excitation systems, and commissioning of rotating equipment.
• Hands on experience in electrical testing and commissioning of electrical rotating machines and drives systems.
• Ability and willingness to travel approximately 80% of the time, as required.

• Ability and willingness to possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
