Position Summary

Responsible for effectively managing engineering activities at the plant including:

  • Scheduling, resolving issues, total plant maintenance (TPM), new process/equipment design and contractor coordination to ensure the mechanical integrity and reliability of the facility.
  • Pre-production and production phases, ensuring all key processes and business objectives are consistently achieved and aligned with the WIN Strategy.
  • Directs and monitors progress in developing 'Operational Excellence' within the location, to include all aspects of Health & Safety, Manufacturing, Lean & Quality, and site Environmental Control.
Responsibilities
  • Lead Lean and continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, safety, and overall business performance.
  • Drive Kaizen events, HPT projects, and value stream improvements to eliminate waste and reduce lead times.
  • Provide engineering and technical support to manufacturing teams, including process development, tooling, documentation, and equipment upgrades.
  • Manage maintenance and facility activities to ensure equipment reliability, production flow, and site safety compliance.
  • Troubleshoot machinery issues, coordinate repairs, and engage contractors or suppliers when required.
  • Support QCDS performance reviews by identifying root causes and implementing robust corrective actions.
  • Coordinate engineering resources, project plans, and cross-functional teams to deliver timely manufacturing improvements.
  • Ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations while supporting customer service and business objectives.
Qualifications
  • Degree or equivalent experience in an applied engineering discipline.
  • GCSE's in English & Math's or equivalent engineering experience.
  • 5+ years' experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical & mechanical machinery.
  • 2+ years' experience in maintenance activities.
  • Proven understanding and implementation of Lean principles such as Value Stream Mapping, Just-in-Time, Heijunka, Andon, Single Piece Flow, 5S's, Visual Management, and Total Productive Maintenance / Kaizen.
  • At least 5 years' industry experience in machining or mechanical assembly.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Ability to learn about and operate new machinery.
  • Strong background in the interpretation of engineering drawings/specifications and efficient manufacturing processes.
  • Lock Out/Tag Out experience.
  • LOLER & PUWER experience.
  • CAM programming – Edgecam, Inventor and Autocad experience.
  • Team player with demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills.
  • PC proficiency – MS Word, Excel & web-based systems.
  • Take responsibility and ownership for ongoing personal development.
