Join Our TeamRAM Arabia General Contracting is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Shop Drawing Engineer to join our project team for the execution of a major hospital construction project in Riyadh.
We are looking for a detail-oriented engineering professional with extensive experience in preparing, reviewing, and coordinating shop drawings for multidisciplinary construction projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in transforming design documents into coordinated construction drawings, ensuring constructability, technical accuracy, and full compliance with project requirements.
Position SummaryThe Shop Drawing Engineer will be responsible for the preparation, coordination, review, and continuous updating of shop drawings throughout the project lifecycle. The role requires close coordination with the Design Team, Technical Office, Site Engineers, BIM Team, Consultants, and Clients to ensure that all construction drawings are fully coordinated, technically accurate, and approved prior to execution.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, develop, and review Shop Drawings in accordance with project requirements and approved design documents.
- Review IFC drawings, contract documents, technical specifications, and project requirements before preparing shop drawings.
- Develop multidisciplinary Coordination Drawings to ensure seamless integration between all engineering disciplines.
- Identify design conflicts and coordinate technical solutions with the Design Team, Technical Office, and Site Engineers.
- Prepare Builder's Work Drawings and Opening Drawings as required.
- Prepare, update, and maintain As-Built Drawings throughout the construction phase until final project handover.
- Coordinate with Construction Teams to ensure shop drawings accurately reflect site conditions.
- Support Consultant and Client approval processes and close review comments promptly.
- Coordinate closely with the BIM Team to ensure consistency between BIM models and construction drawings.
- Review Material Submittals to ensure compatibility with approved drawings and technical specifications.
- Provide technical support and engineering solutions to construction teams.
- Maintain proper document control procedures, revision management, and drawing distribution.
- Prepare periodic reports on drawing status, approvals, and technical coordination progress.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Valid membership with the Saudi Council of Engineers.
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in preparing Shop Drawings for construction projects.
- Minimum 7 years of proven experience on hospital or healthcare facility construction projects.
- Demonstrated experience in multidisciplinary Shop Drawing coordination.
- Strong experience working in BIM-enabled construction environments.
- Experience coordinating drawing approvals and technical submissions with Consultants and Clients.
The successful candidate shall demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of:
- Saudi Building Code (SBC).
- Saudi Ministry of Health requirements for healthcare facilities.

- BIM workflows and ISO 19650 standards.
- Advanced experience working on BIM-enabled construction projects.
- Ability to coordinate Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, Fire Protection, and Medical Systems models.
- Strong understanding of Clash Detection processes.
- Experience working within a Common Data Environment (CDE).
- Ability to manage digital engineering models and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
