Piping Engineer Fabrication - Aramco Projects

Responsibilities

• Engineering Support Execution Review and interpret piping isometric drawings P IDs line lists and structural plans to issue shop fabrication packages and cutting lists to workshop teams
• Standards Specification Compliance Ensure all fabrication and assembly procedures comply strictly with Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards SAES such as SAES-L-110 SAES-W-011 and SAES-W-012 as well as relevant ASME B31 3 B31 4 B31 8 codes
• Technical Queries TQI RFI Raise process and resolve Technical Queries TQIs and Requests for Information RFIs related to piping design material discrepancies weld maps and isometric revisions
• Weld Mapping WPS Selection Develop detailed weld maps select applicable Welding Procedure Specifications WPS and track Welder Performance Qualification Records WPQR for all joint types
• Planning Spool Tracking Collaborate with the Planning Scheduling team to monitor daily shop output maintain spool tracking logs and prioritize spool release to match site erection sequences and delivery schedules
• Quality NDT Oversight Coordinate directly with QA QC Inspectors and Aramco PID to inspect fit-ups verify pre-heat PWHT requirements and manage Non-Destructive Testing NDT extent RT UT MT PT
• Material Traceability Audit and maintain heat number traceability raw material verification and Mill Test Certificates MTCs for all pipes fittings flanges and consumables
• Hydrotesting Surface Prep Prepare hydrotest packages calculate test pressures supervise spool cleaning flushing and coordinate internal external coating requirements prior to delivery
• Safety Compliance Enforce Saudi Aramco Safety Instructions GIs and Work Permit Systems across all fabrication yards ensuring zero safety incidents during cutting beveling grinding and lifting operations
• Reporting Documentation Prepare weekly fabrication progress metrics spool clearance reports and close-out documentation for handover

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Piping Engineering from an accredited university.

Experience:

Minimum 8 – 10 years of experience as a Piping Engineer with a strong focus on shop and site fabrication in Oil & Gas / Petrochemical pipeline projects.

Aramco Background:
Prior experience in Saudi Aramco projects and strong working knowledge of Aramco SAP, PID clearance processes, and SAES standards are highly preferred.

Strong engineering analytical capabilities with a thorough understanding of piping spool production workflows.

Advanced proficiency in interpreting Isometric Drawings, P&IDs, GA drawings, and Piping Material Specifications (PMS).

In-depth knowledge of Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards (SAES), General Instruction (GI) safety rules, and ASME codes (B31.3, B31.4, B31.8).

Deep understanding of welding processes (GTAW, SMAW, FCAW, SAW), NDT techniques, and material selection (Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Alloy, LTCS).

Excellent communication skills to interface effectively with Project Engineers, QA/QC inspectors, Client representatives, and Shop Supervisors.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), AutoCAD, and spool management software/tracking databases.
