Measuring the dimensions such as length, sides, diagonals, rhomboidity, bend, etc. Checking the surface defects like cracks, pin holes, blow holes, depressions and slag patches by visual inspection and reporting to the Billet Yard Foreman.

Defect billets or hold billets are kept separately with identification. Supervision of slag patch grinding, bend billet straightening, billet markers, gas cutters, and inspection assistants.

Planning and identifying billets to cut macro samples; checking labeling, colour coding, and numbering on billets; billeting stacking. Preparing inspection reports and shift activities. Working under the guidance of the Foreman‑QA (BY) / Supervisor‑QA (BY) for billet dispatches. Prior to loading, ensuring colour coding, length, quality and grade of the billets.

Upon receiving the truck, coordinating with the truck operator to park the vehicle appropriately, then coordinating with the Billet Yard Crane Operator / Forklift Operator for loading. Issuing gate passes. Checking the weighbridge and, if any abnormalities, reporting to the Supervisor‑Billet Yard.

Updating and filing the billet dispatch documents, practicing and following safety procedures for billet loading, and maintaining good housekeeping in the Billet Yard area.
