Purpose of the JobThe Material Controller is responsible for executing material planning, inventory monitoring, and supplier coordination activities to ensure uninterrupted production through timely availability of raw materials, packaging materials, flavors, and ingredients.
The role supports plant operations by executing MRP plans, coordinating inbound shipments, maintaining ERP data accuracy, and proactively escalating supply risks that may impact production schedules, supplier performance, or new product development timelines.

The role provides plant-level execution support ensuring real-time visibility of material availability to planning and production teams.
KeyRoles and Responsibilities 1. MRP Execution & Material Monitoring
- Execute material plans generated through ERP/MRP systems
- Monitor daily material consumption against production schedules
- Maintain real-time visibility of material availability for production runs
- Create purchase orders and track approvals where applicable
- Escalate potential material shortages or supply risks proactively
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely dispatch of materials
- Coordinate with Procurement and Finance to track supplier payments
- Monitor due payments to prevent supply disruptions
- Escalate payment or supplier-related risks affecting material availability
- Monitor safety stock levels and reorder alerts
- Identify slow-moving and ageing materials
- Support stock rotation initiatives to reduce excess inventory
- Maintain system and physical inventory accuracy
- Track inbound shipments and follow up on delivery timelines
- Coordinate customs clearance and import documentation processing
- Support LC/CAD and banking documentation requirements
- Monitor shipments to minimize demurrage and delays
- Coordinate with QA and CQA teams on rejected materials
- Communicate with suppliers regarding rejected shipments
- Support reverse logistics processes for rejected materials
- Track closure of rejection cases to avoid inventory blockage
- Support material readiness for new product development initiatives
- Coordinate packaging artwork approvals with suppliers and internal teams
- Ensure new materials are available before production launch
- Maintain accurate ERP transactions including GRN, consumption and adjustments
- Track material ageing and inventory movements within ERP systems
- Maintain dashboards and reporting for planning visibility
- Ensure data accuracy for MRP planning cycles
- Coordinate with Warehouse teams on stock reconciliation
- Support Production teams with material availability updates
- Work closely with Procurement, Finance, QA, Marketing, and Planning teams
- Escalate operational risks affecting material continuity
- On-time material availability for production runs
- Inventory record accuracy

- 4-6 years experience in Materials Control within FMCG or manufacturing environment
- Experience working in ERP/MRP-driven planning environments
- Exposure to import documentation and supplier coordination
- Experience supporting production planning environments
- Strong understanding of MRP and inventory management principles
- Knowledge of ERP systems and supply chain workflows
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- Ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related discipline
- Professional certification in Supply Chain preferred
- Material availability for production continuity
