A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Coating Operator, you will play a key role in delivering high‑quality coating applications for turbine components. You will operate and monitor coating systems while ensuring adherence to technical specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. Your work will directly contribute to the reliability and performance of critical energy equipment.
How You’ll Make An Impact- Set up, operate, and monitor coating booths for turbine component applications in line with defined procedures and technical requirements.
- Execute coating processes (e.g., APS and HVOF) following established recipes and work instructions to achieve target performance and quality outcomes.
- Monitor and control process parameters such as temperature, pressure, and flow rates to ensure compliance with production specifications.
- Inspect coated components for conformance to specifications, identifying defects and initiating corrective actions as needed.
- Perform coating quality checks, including coat weight and functional property verification, ensuring product integrity.
- Adjust machine settings, fixtures, and process parameters to improve coating quality and efficiency.
- Handle raw materials and finished components safely, including loading and unloading operations.
- Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) standards and operational excellence practices.
- Experience in thermal spray coating technologies (APS, HVOF) or CNC machine operations within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with robotic systems (ABB and/or FANUC) is an advantage; CNC operational experience is accepted in lieu of robotic thermal spray experience.
- Good understanding of process control, quality inspection, and best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions. Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general PC skills.
- Background diploma in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Technology (or equivalent technical certification).
- Proven 3+ years’ experience in coating operations, CNC machining, or similar industrial manufacturing roles.
