Assembly & Test Technician Job Dammam area,Eastern Province Saudi Arabia,Manufacturing / Production

Primary Responsibilities

Assembles and disassembles National Oilwell Varco proprietary and other proprietary oilfield equipment.
Reads a design drawing and assembles accordingly.
Performs pressure testing (hydro, gas) for choke assemblies and functional testing of actuators as specified by company procedures.
Reads and fills traceability documents and testing charts.
Torques nuts, bolts, and cap screws by using torquing instruments and following torquing procedure and requirements.
Participates and identifies root causes of assembly and testing failures.
Removes small quantities of metal with hand files, scrapers, grinders to produce a close fit between parts.
Records instrument readings as required for test procedures or company requirements.
Disassembles various equipment for salvage of parts.
Reports any material discrepancies or material defects to area supervisor.
Operates lifting devices for movement of parts and other equipment as needed.
Communicates with supervisor, engineers, production control, quality, and other shop personnel as it relates to the job.
Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly and performs basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment as required.
Records all details of the part (heat number, material grade, part number, WO/PO number, etc.).
Adheres and complies with state and federal law, the Company ISO Quality Program and procedures, Company policies and Safety and Environmental Regulations.
May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Diploma in a relevant subject.
2-3 years of experience in assembly and pressure testing.
General mechanical and/or assembly experience with rotating equipment.
Mechanical problem solving ability and troubleshooting skills.
Proficiency with impact wrenches, torque instruments and various other air and hand tools.
Competent in operating lifting devices.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Proficient in English (both written and oral) as it relates to the job.
Willingness and ability to work flexible shifts and changing work schedules.
Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division for material take offs and fabrication.
