Manual Machinist

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual machines lathe milling machine grinder etc to produce parts to required tolerances
• Read and interpret engineering drawings blueprints and work instructions
• Measure examine and test completed parts to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments micrometers calipers gauges
• Select appropriate tools materials and machine settings for each job
• Perform routine maintenance on machines and keep work area clean and organized
• Troubleshoot machining problems and make adjustments as needed
• Collaborate with engineers and other team members to resolve technical issues
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or apprenticeship preferred.
• Proven experience as a manual machinist in a manufacturing or repair environment.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of machining processes, materials, and tools.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Physical ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
