Job Description Summary
The QC Inspector is responsible for conducting quality inspections during the repair of gas turbine components, including incoming, in-process, and final inspections. The role focuses on identifying defects, evaluating results against codes, standards, and specifications, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, EHS, and company procedures.
Role Summary / PurposeThe QC Inspector will be responsible for the quality inspection tasks in the cell operations. They will build knowledge about all aspects of quality in operations and inspection during repair of gas turbine components from incoming inspection, in-process inspection and final inspection. They will also develop knowledge about writing technical reports on job conditions and defects that occur in operations.
Essential Responsibilities- Perform incoming and final inspection on gas turbine components to identify nonconformances / defects.
- Interpret, measure, and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
- Follow all GEMTEC policies and procedures and promote EHS, quality and compliance on the shop floor.
- Conform to all safety and quality requirements.
- Technical diploma or equivalent experience in NDT.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Knowledge in NDT inspection.
- Ability to interpret drawings and REIs.
- Ability to use measuring instruments (calipers, dial indicators, etc.).
- Understanding of work instructions, QMS procedures, and technical documents.
- Ability to write technical reports.
- Demonstrated knowledge of quality, safety, shop computer systems, and shop support requirements.
- Knowledge of EHS and quality required in manufacturing operations.
- Preferred SAP knowledge.
- Preferred Certified Level II NDT in PT.
