Job Description
To ensure all welding and related activities are performed in line with project specifications, applicable codes, and client requirements, guaranteeing structural integrity and compliance with quality standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesConduct inspection of welding activities in accordance with approved WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications).
Verify welder qualifications, consumables, and equipment calibration.
Monitor pre-welding, welding, and post-welding processes including fit-up, alignment, and dimensional checks.
Review and interpret radiographic, ultrasonic, and other NDT results.
Ensure adherence to international codes/standards (ASME, AWS, API, ISO).
Raise and follow-up on Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and verify corrective actions.
Maintain welding inspection reports, weld maps, and traceability records.
Liaise with client/consultant representatives for inspections and approvals.
Support QA/QC management in preparing documentation for final project dossiers.
Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical discipline.
Minimum 5+ years’ experience in Welding QC inspection (Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Fabrication projects preferred).
Strong knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, SAW) and materials.
Certified Welding Inspector (AWS-CWI / CSWIP 3.1 or equivalent) is mandatory.
Familiarity with NDT methods and quality control procedures.
Aramco Approval & CBT in Welding
Proficiency in reading and interpreting welding symbols and drawings.
Attention to detail with excellent documentation and reporting skills.
