Job Title: Inbound Logistics Specialist

Reports to: Inbound Logistics Manager

Business Unit: Logistics (ASDI / DIP)

Function: Inbound Logistics

Level : TBC

Location: Dammam, KSA – ASDI Plant

Purpose of the Job

To manage and optimize the inbound logistics operations for the KSA (ASDI) and UAE (DIP) plants by coordinating with suppliers, overseeing shipment bookings, and ensuring timely and cost‑effective delivery of raw materials and packaging materials to the facilities.

This role involves meticulous handling of all logistical details, including customs clearance and financial reporting, to uphold stringent delivery schedules and cost parameters in line with the company's strategic objectives.

Key

Roles and Responsibilities Inbound Logistics Management
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain (SC) team to review and confirm orders with suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier compliance to ensure adherence to scheduled shipping dates.
  • Strategically negotiate freight rates to optimize cost‑efficiency.
  • Identify and implement the most efficient shipping methods and courier routes.
  • Coordinate scheduling, manage logistics workflows, and oversee the processing of all shipping documentation.
  • Ensure accurate and secure archiving of digital and physical shipping documents, including manifests, invoices, and bills of lading.
Cost Effectiveness
  • Manage forwarders to maintain competitive freight rates and reduce/avoid demurrage charges.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of logistics contracts and supplier terms to ensure favorable terms.
  • Implement cost‑saving initiatives that reduce logistics expenses without compromising service quality.
Reporting
  • Update and maintain comprehensive logistics reports that track shipment metrics, costs, and timelines.
  • Regularly update management and relevant departments on logistics status and any issues encountered.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company reporting requirements.
  • Prepare monthly accruals in collaboration with the SC Planning Team.
Systems and Technology
  • Own and use the inbound logistics tracking system (Shipsy) to ensure all data is kept updated and that internal and external stakeholders use it as per the standards and expectations.
Team Player
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams to align logistics operations with broader company goals.
  • Support team members in achieving logistics‑related tasks and objectives.
  • Foster a cooperative environment that encourages open communication and efficient workflow.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • On‑time delivery of shipments.
  • Budget vs. actual logistics spend.
  • Year‑over‑year reduction in logistics costs.
  • Percentage of cost‑saving initiatives meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Accuracy of logistics reports.
  • Timeliness of report submissions.
  • System data accuracy and level of visibility for the leadership team via Shipsy.
  • Team satisfaction and collaboration feedback from peers and management.
Requirements Experience
  • 3–5 years of experience in a logistics role within a freight forwarding, customs clearing, or shipping company.
Knowledge
  • Familiarity with import / export procedures and documentation.
  • Good knowledge of port operations and customs / tax clearance processes.
  • Understanding of cross‑cultural / global logistics issues.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent.
Accountability Indicators
  • On‑time and cost‑effective delivery of inbound shipments to the KSA (ASDI) and UAE (DIP) plants.
  • Effective negotiation and management of freight rates, forwarders, and demurrage exposure.
  • Accurate, timely, and compliant logistics and financial reporting.
  • Full and accurate use of the inbound logistics tracking system (Shipsy) by all stakeholders.
  • Strong cross‑functional collaboration and team support.
