Job Description Job Purpose
The Storekeeper is responsible for managing all site store activities, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, control, and issuance of materials, tools, and equipment required for project execution. The role ensures inventory accuracy, material availability, compliance with company procedures, and adherence to HSE and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities Inventory Control- Maintain accurate inventory records for all materials, consumables, tools, and equipment.
- Monitor stock levels and initiate replenishment requests when required.
- Conduct periodic stock counts and inventory reconciliations.
- Ensure proper tracking of material movements and inventory transactions.
- Receive materials delivered to site and verify quantities against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Inspect received materials for quality, specifications, and potential damages.
- Coordinate with procurement and site teams regarding discrepancies or non-conforming materials.
- Issue materials to authorized personnel and maintain proper documentation.
- Ensure proper storage, identification, and preservation of materials in accordance with company procedures and manufacturer recommendations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure store environment.
- Implement suitable storage practices to prevent damage, loss, or deterioration of materials.
- Maintain all store-related records, including goods receipt notes, material issue vouchers, stock registers, and inventory reports.
- Update inventory records and ERP systems in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prepare periodic inventory and stock movement reports for management review.
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate documentation and inventory records.
- Comply with BESIX Group HSE policies, procedures, and project requirements.
- Ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of materials where applicable.
- Maintain housekeeping standards within the warehouse and storage areas.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence.
- Diploma or equivalent qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree is considered an advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in store keeping, warehouse operations, or inventory management within the construction industry.
- Experience working on large-scale construction, infrastructure, or industrial projects is preferred.
- Good knowledge of store keeping procedures, inventory control, and warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with construction materials, equipment, and tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Experience using ERP systems and inventory management software.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Team player with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
