Storekeeper

We are seeking a Storekeeper to manage the receipt, custody, recording, and issue of all materials, consumables, tools, and equipment held by the company.

The store supports fit-out, renovation, and emergency maintenance work, so critical items must be available at short notice while stock levels remain under control. The role confirms receipt of goods independently of the purchasing function, issues materials only against approved requisitions, and maintains accurate stock records that support job costing and inventory reconciliation.

The Storekeeper reports to the Procurement Supervisor, with a functional reporting line to the Chief Accountant for stock counts and reconciliation.

1. Receiving Receive deliveries against approved purchase orders; verify quantities, specifications, and condition. Issue goods received notes and reject or quarantine non-conforming items. Report shortages, damages, and discrepancies to Procurement and Finance promptly.

2. Storage & Custody Organise the store with clear locations, labelling, and access control. Store paints, solvents, gas cylinders, and other hazardous materials safely and in line with requirements. Maintain the tool store; record issue and return of tools and equipment to named individuals.

3. Issuing Issue materials only against approved material requisitions referencing a job or work order. Support urgent after-hours issue for emergency maintenance under the agreed procedure. Process returns of unused materials and record them against the originating job.

4. Stock Records & Control Maintain accurate stock records in the system for all movements. Monitor minimum and maximum levels and raise replenishment requests for critical items. Conduct periodic cycle counts and full stock counts with Finance; investigate variances. Identify slow-moving, obsolete, and scrap items for disposal approval.

5. Other Perform any other duties reasonably required by the Procurement Supervisor that are consistent with the scope of this role.

• Stores Management — Knowledge of receiving, storage, issuing, and stock control procedures
• Material Knowledge — Familiarity with construction, electrical, plumbing, and finishing materials and tools
• Record Keeping — Accurate use of inventory systems, bin cards, and Excel
• Safe Storage — Awareness of safe handling and storage of hazardous materials

• Firmness — Willingness to refuse issues not supported by approved documentation
• Communication — Clear coordination with site staff, procurement, and finance.

Industry: General Contracting / Facility Management / Engineering Consultancy

• 2 to 4 years of experience as a storekeeper or stores assistant
• Experience must have been gained in contracting, construction, engineering consultancy, or facility management environments
• Experience handling construction, MEP, and finishing materials and a tool store.

• Secondary school certificate or diploma
• Forklift certification and a valid Saudi driving licence are advantages.
