Job DescriptionCIFC Health, a program of the Connecticut Institute For Communities, Inc., seeks a full‑time or part‑time Chief Psychiatrist / Chief of Behavioral Health to provide leadership to the adult and pediatric behavioral health departments. Under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, this position is responsible for:
- Direct supervision of Psychiatrists, Psychiatric APRNs, RNs, and an Administrative Coordinator.
- Maintaining a reduced individual patient panel while evaluating and treating patients with mental and behavioral health disorders.
- Overseeing the overall operations of the Health Center’s behavioral health departments.
- Traveling to integrated care sites within Danbury, CT as required.
Board Certified in Psychiatry or completion of an ACGME‑accredited training program acceptable for board certification by ABPN is required. Candidates must currently hold and/or qualify for a Connecticut medical license. Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
RequirementsSuccessful candidates must possess or be able to obtain a Physician’s license and CSR from the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health. Board certification, or the ability to become certified, is required. Prior clinical responsibility that includes crisis intervention, brief assessments, and individual psychotherapy is preferred. A minimum of two years’ experience in a supervisory capacity is required.
