Position Summary
- Teach undergraduate courses in your area of expertise, and preferably introductory and advanced courses in statistics or research methods, and graduate-level courses in the department’s MS in Addiction Studies program that align with your expertise (such as research methods, health behavior, or related topics).
- Develop your own productive research program at WCSU.
- Involve undergraduate students in your research.
- Participate in departmental and university service by advising and mentoring students, serving on department and university committees, taking an active role in curriculum development, and maintaining professional activities.
- Teach in WCSU’s small classes that allow for student-based teaching and learning and project-based activities.
- Meet a teaching load of 4/4 (12 credits) per semester; class sizes are capped at 15–38 students per class.
- Apply for course load reduction for research purposes starting in your second year.
- Receive generous travel, research, and other grants competitively awarded each year.
- Ph.D. from an accredited college or university in clinical, social, or health psychology by the date of hire (August 2026).
- College‑level teaching experience and a demonstrated record of scholarly work are preferred.
- A candidate who does not meet the above standards may also be appointed provided the candidate has credentials and/or experience substantially comparable to the above experience.
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for first‑generation and under‑represented groups.
The hiring salary range is $73,912–$86,231 and is commensurate with candidates’ experience.
