Overview

POSITION TITLE: Crisis Intervention Clinician

PROGRAM: Mobile Crisis Intervention Services

Mobile Crisis Intervention Services (MCIS) provides home and community-based responses to children and youth experiencing a behavioral or psychiatric crisis. MCIS services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days per year and are available throughout the greater Waterbury, Danbury and Torrington regions (42 town catchment area). All staff are required to work their assigned schedule but may be asked to shift/alter this in response to high workflow time periods.

Monday through Friday 2PM-10PM

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct services with children, adolescents and their families including evaluation/assessment; home and community-based services; outreach; case and care management; brief intensive therapies; crisis intervention; record keeping; and collaboration with other professionals, team members and related community services (including consultation and/or community and/or school placements).
  • Carry a company-provided work cell phone and respond to all calls for assistance in person or by phone/telehealth (as clinically indicated).
  • Carry out crisis evaluations and develops treatment plans; implement crisis stabilization plans and connect clients to clinically indicated resources and services.
  • Provide community-based outreach and treatment services in settings such as agency offices, client homes, schools, emergency rooms, shelters, police stations, etc.
  • Complete clinical documentation within required timelines and respond to feedback to ensure compliance with agency and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain contact with families, provide follow-up, and support in person or by phone/telehealth as needed.
  • Maintain confidential program documents, including insurance and managed care documentation.
  • Maintain productivity as determined by the program supervisor and assist in program management tasks as assigned.
  • Collaborate as a team member and participate in program organization, marketing, planning and community outreach events.
  • Participate in supervision and ongoing professional development, onboarding, training, and monthly staff meetings to support MCIS operations.
  • Serve on agency or community committees as directed and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Ability to maintain utmost confidentiality of agency and client matters; demonstrates clinical knowledge and crisis intervention expertise.
  • Knowledge of cultural diversity and ability to display cultural competency for the populations served.
  • Knowledge and expertise in clinical theory and practice as it relates to the populations served by Wellmore, Inc.; able to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with families and professionals (in writing and verbally).
  • Working knowledge of the greater Waterbury, Danbury, or Torrington area is a must.
  • Must have a reliable personal vehicle (and adequate insurance) to provide out-of-office services daily.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish-English) preferred.
Education & Experience

A master’s degree in marriage and family therapy, social work or related human services field with at least a one-year clinical internship working with children and/or adolescents or families is required. Two years’ post graduate clinical experience working with children, adolescents or families is preferred. Experience in family therapy and family systems theory and practice is preferred.

Licensure/Certification /Registration

Must hold an active license with the Connecticut Department of Public Health as a mental health provider at the associate level (e.g., LMSW, LPCA, LMFTA); full CT licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT) is preferred. Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
