Description

CIFC’s Early Learning Programs / Head Start in Danbury, CT is seeking a full‑time Family Advocate to join our team. As a Family Advocate, you will provide support, resources, and advocacy to families participating in our Head Start program. The ideal candidate will have experience working with families and children, and excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities
  • Build relationships with families and connect them to community resources and services.
  • Provide support and advocacy for families in accessing services and addressing needs.
  • Assist families in setting and achieving goals related to education, employment, and family well‑being.
  • Collaborate with Head Start staff to ensure the provision of quality services.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of family contacts, services provided, and child healthcare records.
  • Participate in program planning and recruitment activities.
Requirements
  • Certificate or degree in social work, human services, or a related field.
  • Experience working with low‑income families and children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of community resources and services.
  • Bilingual skills preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
