Overview

ARKA Group L.P. ("ARKA") is an advanced technologies company serving the U.S. military, intelligence community, and commercial space industry delivering next-generation solutions to support the national security space enterprise. Our Student Program provides opportunities to develop functional job skills and gain real-world experience in fields across the company, including engineering, finance, and business development. We are currently seeking a Fall Co-op in the Software Engineering department.

You will provide prototyping, coding, testing, scripting, and document generation in support of software development activities. The code will be developed in C++, C#, C, and Python and will run on Windows, Linux, or an RTOS. Git and Bitbucket will be used to track changes, Jira to track tasks and defects, and peer reviews will be used prior to release to teach production-quality coding fundamentals.

You will work alongside a talented and experienced team that mentors interns and co-ops.

Responsibilities

• Code development in C++, C#, C, and Python
• Software test development and execution
• Creation and updates for requirements, test plans, and release documentation

Basic Qualifications

• University Junior or Senior
• Working towards a BS/BE in computer science or preferably computer engineering
• Experience with programming in C++ or C#
• Interest in embedded programming and working with hardware
• Understanding of Object-Oriented Design

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience programming in Python is preferred but not required
• Experience using the Unified Modeling Language (UML) is preferred but not required

Location

Danbury, CT. This position is based onsite at our facility in Danbury, CT.
