Perosphere Technologies is hiring a Software Engineer to join the team based in Danbury, CT! This will be an onsite role, 5 days a week.

Our flagship product, the Clot Chek™ Coagulometer, is the only available point-of-care device that effectively measures clotting times across drug classes, including Direct Oral Anticoagulants (DOACs)—a critical unmet need in hospital emergency departments worldwide. Clot Chek delivers rapid, precise results that enable better treatment decisions, improve patient outcomes, and can drive hospital efficiencies.
Backed by leading investors including Advantage Capital Partners, Ambit Health Ventures, and NIH, and having launched commercially in Europe in 2024, we are now preparing for U.S. launch and scaling our operations accordingly.
Software EngineerPerosphere Technologies is seeking a skilled and motivated Software Engineer to support the development and maintenance of software for our point-of-care coagulometer system. This role offers the opportunity to work hands‑on with an advanced medical diagnostic device that integrates hardware, software, and real‑time system design.
Our coagulometer is a rechargeable, battery‑operated device equipped with a color touchscreen, USB port, barcode scanner, accelerometer, heating circuits, optical sensors, and support for external printers. Software is primarily developed in ANSI C++ with Qt5 for the GUI on a Linux‑based platform.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to the development and refinement of software features that improve usability, functionality, and clinical value.
- Implement and support communication between hardware components and external peripherals (e.g., barcode scanners, printers).
- Collaborate with hardware engineers, assay scientists, and quality personnel to deliver robust and high‑performance software solutions.
- Develop and maintain documentation including design descriptions, test plans, and technical reports.
- Participate in software risk assessments and ensure adherence to medical device quality system standards.
- Assist in debugging, system testing, and supporting software tools used in production environments.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
- Strong background in C++ programming, including software design and debugging.
- Familiarity with Linux environments; experience with real‑time systems or PREEMPT-RT is a plus.
- Experience with Qt (preferably Qt5) or equivalent GUI frameworks.
- Interest in medical device development and hardware/software integration.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and a proactive, collaborative mindset.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
