Description We are looking for a Patient Care Coordinator to support a busy endocrine practice in Massachusetts. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who excels at coordinating patient access, maintaining accurate records, and creating a welcoming experience for patients and families. The person in this role will help keep provider schedules organized, prepare visits thoroughly, and serve as a dependable point of contact for administrative and clinical coordination.

Responsibilities:

- Welcome patients and visitors professionally, answer routine questions, and provide attentive service throughout the scheduling and check-in process.

- Coordinate office visits, follow-up appointments, hospital-based services, and outpatient procedures while ensuring timely action on patient needs.

- Arrange endocrine-related testing and treatments, including specialized procedures, and place patients appropriately to support efficient provider workflows.

- Review provider schedules at the close of each day to confirm follow-up visits have been arranged and address any outstanding scheduling needs.

- Gather required records, prepare charts in advance of appointments, and ensure the provider has the necessary clinical information before each visit, evaluation, or procedure.

- Process provider-ordered referrals, schedule future testing, and communicate appointment details clearly to patients and internal team members.

- Verify patient demographic and insurance information, support pre-certification activities, and maintain confidentiality in accordance with practice policies.

- Assist with administrative office tasks such as faxing, copying, filing, mailings, and coordination with external vendors or service partners.

- Support patients with required forms, help coordinate medication-related authorization workflows, and alert clinical staff in advance of scheduled injection visits.

- Communicate scheduling concerns or operational issues promptly to the provider or team lead and provide cross-training support to other staff when needed. Requirements - Prior experience in patient scheduling, medical office coordination, or a similar healthcare support role.

- Familiarity with handling patient medical records and preparing documentation ahead of clinical visits.

- Working knowledge of insurance verification, referrals, and pre-authorization or pre-certification processes.

- Ability to manage multiple appointments, procedures, and follow-up needs with strong attention to detail.

- Comfortable assisting patients in person and over the phone with professionalism and empathy.

- Strong organizational, communication, and clerical skills, including filing, faxing, and general office support.

- Commitment to protecting confidential patient information and following privacy standards.
