Position Overview and Responsibilities

St. John’s seeks a long-term, high school Substitute Mathematics Teacher to cover a family leave from February 27, 2026 to June 5, 2026. The teacher will support students in Calculus and Algebra 2/Trigonometry, promote curiosity and inquiry, engage all learners, incorporate technology to support learning gains, and connect content to real‑world contexts.

Education and Experience
  • Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in mathematics.
  • Previous teaching experience in high school or middle school is desirable.
Physical Requirements
  • Standing/sitting for long periods of time.
  • Must be capable of adapting to frequent changes in position throughout the workday.
  • Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person or on the telephone.
  • Use of hands and fingers for manipulation, and using computer keyboard, educational tools, and performing first aid and CPR.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision and distance vision.
