St. John’s Prep is an inclusive, Catholic, Xaverian Brothers Sponsored School for young men in grades 6 through 12. St. John’s seeks a long‑term, high school substitute mathematics teacher (Calculus and Algebra 2/Trigonometry) to cover a family leave from February 27, 2026 to June 5, 2026. Mathematics faculty members in the High School n’s teach five sections and may be assigned an additional supervisory duty. Classes meet five times within a seven‑day rotating schedule.
We seek a teacher who promotes curiosity and inquiry among students, engages all learners, uses technology as a vehicle for learning gains, and works with students to connect content to the real world in the classroom setting.

In addition to classroom teaching responsibilities, we encourage all members of the faculty to be involved in the life of the school beyond the classroom through a wide range of co‑curricular, intramural and interscholastic programs. Education and Experience- Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in mathematics.
- Previous teaching experience in high school or middle school is desirable.
- Standing/sitting for long periods of time.
- Must be capable of adapting to frequent changes in position throughout the workday.
- Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person or on the telephone.
- Use of hands and fingers for manipulation, and using computer keyboard, educational tools, and perform first aid and CPR.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision and distance vision.
