A detailed‑oriented, passionate and dynamic individual is needed to be an integral part of our quality team to help drive product and process improvements. In this position, you'll collaborate with many functions of the organization - Engineering, Repairs, Assembly Operations, and Supply Chain. You will lead product investigations and data analysis to determine reasons for quality issues and escalations, facilitating actions to drive sustainable solutions that provide measurable long‑term improvements.

JOB DUTIES- Analyze customer complaints and investigate field failures – translate learnings into actionable engineering and customer‑facing solutions. Represent the voice of the customer and coordinate corrective/preventive actions, follow‑ups, and timely reporting.
- Support suppliers in 8D responses and conduct regular quality update meetings, including written investigation reports and assuring effectiveness of supplier corrective actions.
- Track all quality escalations, create accurate assessments, provide efficient responses and drive effective resolutions to meet customer expectations. Lead cross‑functional meetings to discuss critical issues and delegate actions for product quality and process performance improvement.
- Maintain baseline factory KPI metrics (scrap, rework, FPY, etc.) and identify areas of opportunity for improvement assuring clearly documented identification, control, and disposition of nonconformities.
- Identify critical assembly defects, track product performance and communicate key learnings and developments to appropriate workflows for responses and corrective actions.
- Analyze electrical systems, diagnose critical malfunctions, and conduct electrical tests to investigate and resolve customers' product issues.
- Troubleshoot motors, drives and systems using diagnostic equipment to determine root cause and corrective actions.
- Conduct critical analysis on engineering changes (ECNs) to ensure specified changes have no impact on degradation of product quality or required function. Act as a product "expert" for cross‑functional team member technical questions and concerns.
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in electrical engineering, electromechanical, manufacturing engineering or a related engineering field.
- 3+ years of engineering experience, preferably at a manufacturing company.
- Exceptional analytical capability, problem solving skills, and root‑cause analysis including FMEAs, 8
Ds, SPC and 5 Whys. - Demonstrated expertise to effectively communicate corrective & preventive action (CAPA), customer complaints, and product improvement activities within the organization.
- Demonstrated understanding of product design change and document change control, product and process verification and validation, and production process control methodologies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of SharePoint a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline driven, high‑impact environment.
- May require travel and specific safety training to work in dangerous and extreme environment conditions while collecting data or commissioning new systems at the customer's location.

Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Motion, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
- Compensation is from $80,000 to $110,000 annually
