Job Overview

Abiomed, a part of Johnson & Johnson Med Tech, is recruiting for a Senior Manager Supplier Engineering to be based in Danvers, MA. The role is part of the global sourcing organization and focuses on reducing overall supply risk through supplier capability assessment and disaster preparedness.

• Direct and develop a local supplier engineering organization of approximately 15 employees (people manager & individual contributors).
• Demonstrate superior teamwork with peers in manufacturing engineering, quality, planning, procurement, logistics, lifecycle engineering, and product development to facilitate joint supplier projects/programs.
• Act as technical lead for supplier qualification and first article inspection.
• Drive supplier evaluation and development program, including obsolescence replacement & qualification.
• Collaborate with global Supplier Quality Assurance to ensure external suppliers are qualified and purchased products meet specifications, regulations, and quality standards.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and process optimizations.
• Engage core suppliers to improve quality and output.
• Reduce overall supply risk through supplier capability & capacity assessment and risk mitigation programs (second sourcing, vendor scale‑up, yield improvement, quality at the source).
• Identify and realize cost‑saving and cost‑reduction opportunities.

• MS in Engineering.
• At least 5+ years in a supply chain environment with business experience in multiple roles such as Supply Chain, Operations, or Engineering.
• Good knowledge of the electronics component manufacturing industry and external manufacturing processes.
• Experience in Supplier Management, Medical Device Manufacturing, Global Medical Device Regulatory Compliance, and Continuous Process Improvement.
• Strong decision‑making, problem‑solving, continuous improvement, and management skills with demonstrated results and the ability to prioritize workloads.
• Strong talent development and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% International.

• Vacation – 120 hours per calendar year.
