Senior Process Engineer – Injection Molding & RJG Expertise
We are seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer to support a critical manufacturing program for a major medical device client. This role will serve as a technical leader responsible for sustaining and advancing injection molding processes, driving innovation, improving yields, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting new product and process transfers into manufacturing.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Scientific Molding, RJG systems, and injection molding process development, along with the ability to lead complex technical initiatives independently.
Base pay range$50.00/hr - $75.00/hr
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical and sustaining engineering support within injection molding manufacturing operations
- Lead process development, optimization, and troubleshooting for existing and new products
- Implement equipment, tooling, and process modifications to improve quality, yields, and production efficiency
- Apply Scientific Molding principles and utilize RJG DC2/DC3 cavity pressure monitoring systems to establish robust, repeatable processes
- Develop and implement statistical process control (SPC) methods and measurement systems
- Evaluate product designs for manufacturability and collaborate with R&D and design teams to ensure process compatibility
- Lead new manufacturing concept development, including material selection, tooling/fixture design, equipment selection, installation, and validation
- Ensure all processes comply with regulatory and quality system requirements
- Manage and/or lead technical projects and provide mentorship to junior engineers and technicians
- Interface with internal stakeholders, leadership, and external vendors to drive manufacturing excellence
- Bachelor’s Degree in Plastics Engineering or equivalent technical discipline
- Minimum 7+ years of injection molding process development experience
- Strong working knowledge of Scientific Molding methodologies
- Strong working knowledge of RJG DC2 and DC3 cavity pressure monitoring systems
- Injection molding process optimization and validation experience
- Proven experience in medical device or regulated manufacturing environments
- Ability to work independently and lead complex technical initiatives
- RJG Master Molder II Certification
