Job DescriptionThe Laboratory Technician I position is a full‑time, entry‑level role supporting laboratory operations in compliance with Eurofins Quality Assurance programs and SOPs. The role includes general laboratory and supply area maintenance, equipment support, sample processing, and record keeping. The work day is Monday‑Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, with occasional weekend work (one weekend per month).
Compensation is $20–22 per hour, depending on experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Receive and process samples, including unloading shipments, inspecting contents, and ensuring documentation accuracy.
- Distribute samples to appropriate departments and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Enter and manage data in the LIMS system and record all laboratory activities.
- Support general laboratory tasks: aliquoting, weighing, glassware washing, routine instrument maintenance, and reagent preparation.
- Perform microbiology analysis following Idexx methods, including aseptic procedures, media preparation, dilutions, and incubation time tracking.
- Resolve discrepancies, ensure proper sample labeling, and complete laboratory paperwork such as bench sheets and logbooks.
- Assist in environmental health, safety, and quality assurance compliance.
- Carry out additional assignments and assist other laboratory areas as needed.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- High attention to detail and problem‑solving ability.
- Physical strength to lift and move heavy boxes up to 50 pounds.
- Proficient in using LIMS software.
- Excellent reading, writing, and speaking skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and under close supervision.
- Team participation and meeting‑management skills.
- Comfortable following written and verbal instructions.
- High‑school diploma required.
- Basic laboratory experience and chemistry coursework preferred.
- Previous production‑oriented work experience (ability to meet deadlines).
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
- Professional proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
- Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds; samples are stored in coolers packed with ice.
- Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.
