Job SummaryAs the Sous Chef, you will oversee the daily operations of the Culinary Department, assisting the Executive Chef with menu development, cost control, and staff supervision. This role involves supervising hourly associates, developing daily menu items, coordinating catering events, and working collaboratively with the Executive Chef to innovate menus and order ingredients.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and controlling expenditures for the account.
- Assist with planning, creating menus, and product development.
- Produce and execute catering events.
- Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with the marketing and culinary team.
- A.S. degree or equivalent experience.
- Progressive culinary/kitchen management experience (depending on degree/training).
- Catering experience and high‑volume, complex food service operations experience.
- Experience with institutional and batch cooking.
- Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
- Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, Outlook, e‑mail, Internet).
- Willingness to participate in client satisfaction programs.
- Serv Safe certification highly desirable.
