Job Description
Entry level sales position capable of supporting the DIY business and achieving our sales and service objectives. The role requires good knowledge of store systems, basic automotive system knowledge, and basic parts knowledge. Must source from stores, hubs, pdq, and external suppliers while possessing in-depth knowledge of store inventory and maintenance processes. Position can be part time or full time. Fleet safety certification preferred.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Provide excellent selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls.
- Achieve personal sales goal and help store reach its sales targets.
- Offer DIY services including battery installation, testing, and wiper installs.
- Maintain store product and operational standards.
- Manage inventory processes such as truck put‑away, shoot‑outs, cycle counts, and back stocking.
- Ensure store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, facings, dusting, and parking lot.
- Handle general stocking, including truck and back stock.
- Safely deliver parts to customers as needed.
- Basic driving and navigation ability.
- Proficiency with delivery board system.
- Friendly communication skills.
- Ability to locate and stock parts.
- Safety knowledge and skills.
- Skill operating inventory systems and store equipment.
- Parts and automotive system knowledge.
- POS and parts lookup system proficiency.
- Expertise with testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY services.
Job Skills Necessary for Success as a Salesperson
- Speak and write English;
Spanish a plus. Communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management. - Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
- Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
- 2-3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment, providing superior customer experiences.
The role involves predominantly walking or standing, with frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds. Employees must be able to use hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WorkEnvironment
Work is usually performed indoors, but employees may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions while installing batteries and wiper blades. Employees may encounter moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, electrical shock, explosives, and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.
Compensation RangeThe good faith estimate for this role is between $15.95 USD and $16.95 USD per hour for a new team member. The rate offered depends on geographic location, experience in retail, automotive knowledge, education, leadership roles, and other skillsets, including shift differential (if applicable).
