Associate Surgical Account Manager – Boston Central
Johnson & Johnson seeks an experienced Surgical Account Manager to drive growth across cardiac surgery and heart failure markets in the Boston Central region.
About the RoleAs Associate Surgical Account Manager, you will work closely with cardiology sales and clinical teams to enable physicians and staff to recover hearts and save patients’ lives through our Impella® product portfolio.
You Will Be Responsible For- Gain distribution and utilization of the Impella 5.5 (left sided treatment)
- Manage sites and clinicals on new surgery, heart failure, ECMO technologies
- Work collaboratively with the area to achieve quarter over quarter growth
- Drive excitement and vision of heart recovery solutions with existing devices and future technologies
- Call point(s) to Cardiac Surgeons, Heart Failure Cardiologists, and Heart Team members (interventional cardiologists, intensivists, perfusionists)
- Staff major conferences (HFSA, AHA, STS, AATS, ISHLT) and local heart failure symposiums
- Build surgical vertical within established Impella programs – full product portfolio
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 10+ years experience in cardiac surgery or combined cardiology medical device sales for Surgical Account Manager level
OR
- 5+ years experience in cardiac surgery or combined cardiology medical device clinical or sales for Associate Account Manager level
- Proven track record of selling in an operating room
- Strong leadership with proven track record of motivating teams to achieve quotas
- Strong knowledge of cardiac surgery and structural heart anatomy
- Established relationships with Cardiac Surgeons in the region
- Track record of technology adoption and market development
- Direct patient support experience and commitment to patient outcomes
- Will travel 50‑75% overnight
- Compliance with state and federal regulations in medical device industry
- Participation in company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability plans

- Vacation up to 120 hours per year; sick time up to 40 hours per year (56 in Washington)
- Holiday pay and floating holidays up to 13 days per year
- Work, personal and family time up to 40 hours per year
Base salary $75,000–$100,000. Eligible for sales incentive compensation and fleet program car allowance.
