The Athenian School seeks an art teacher to teach full‑time in our Middle School with primary responsibility for 6th grade art.

• Develop and implement innovative and engaging project‑based art curriculum.
• Teach visual arts to 6th grade students, fostering experiential, collaborative and interdisciplinary learning.
• Maintain a classroom culture that embraces joy, collaboration, and cultural competency.
• Support the broader school community and align with Athenian’s Pillars:
  Internationalism, Democracy, Environmentalism, Adventure, Leadership, and Service.

• Effective classroom management skills.
• Experience teaching visual arts at the middle‑school level.
• Enthusiasm for developing project‑based art curriculum.
• Strong cultural competency and ability to work with diverse students, families, and colleagues.
• Bachelor’s degree in art, art education or related field preferred; completion of a teaching program preferred.

• Salary range: $82,000 - $150,000; determined by experience and education.
