Responsibilities- Provide leadership over three H&R Block tax offices and lead customer-centric teams to accelerate seasonal tax business.
- Serve as the front-line manager responsible for leadership and development of associates, delivering an outstanding client experience, and achieving office growth objectives for three tax offices. Prior tax preparation experience is not required.
- Start with a flexible part-time schedule in the fall, transitioning to full-time January–April, including evenings and weekends as needed. This role is in-person and not remote.
- Manage office staffing, operations, and logistics for multiple offices with support from Associate Team Leaders.
- Partner with the District General Manager to create and implement office-level growth plans and client growth targets, including developing local partnerships and managing office community involvement.
- Assist DGM in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office positions.
- Conduct timely performance reviews and collaborate with Associate Relations Center to address performance concerns.
- Build an engaging team environment across all offices through training and coaching, recognizing outstanding contributions.
- Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to tax office associates; create schedules and manage timekeeping and labor for associates in all offices.
- Travel between offices as required. Prepare tax returns as needed, upon successful completion of the Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment.
- People management experience with a track record of growing and developing associates.
- Aptitude for executing growth plans and fostering a growth-oriented culture.
- Strong decision-making and judgment skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-centric mindset.
- Computer proficiency in MS Office.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or high school diploma with equivalent experience.
- Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns).
Pay Range: $15.00 - $40.00 per hour. Local minimum wage laws apply. Pay decisions depend on experience, education, and location. Eligible associates may participate in incentive plans and benefits as described by company policy.
