An Advanced Machine Operator is a 2nd level Operator who has the responsibility of ensuring product quality by successfully managing the entire machine operating process. As an Advanced Machine Operator, you will start up machines, change the tooling of the machines to run different product, complete intermediate troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks when issues arise, be alert to product quality and follow all control plans accordingly, and train others.

Additionally, you will actively participate in a team environment to maximize production efficiencies in producing a zero-defect high-quality product. Advanced Machine Operators are hands‑on employees who work with state-of-the-art equipment in a clean and professional work environment. This position requires a strong commitment to safety.

Although not a direct Supervisor, the Advanced Machine Operator directs and assigns daily work, manages breaks/lunches, and escalates breakdowns/issues to the Senior Operator.

To perform this job successfully, a successful candidate will be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). One year or more prior manufacturing experience preferred. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, decimals, negative and positive numbers. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret bar graphs. Use of Metric System. Ability to solve practical problems and apply common sense understanding carry out instructions furnished in written/oral.
  
  A minimum of three years consecutive work experience in a Production and or Manufacturing environment required.
• External Applicants: A minimum of three years’ consecutive work experience in a Manufacturing environment required.
• Language: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to team members and other employees of the organization.
• Technology: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of SAP Integrated Business software and work order software. Use computer with Windows operating system, Microsoft Office Suites software.
• Grinding Operator: The employee is occasionally required to stoop, crouch, or climb. The employee must also frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds; occasionally push/pull up to 80 pounds; rarely lift up to 80 pounds.
• AL‑Lines: The employee is occasionally required to stoop or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds between floor and waist level; occasionally push/pull up to 70 pounds
