- Job Description: Provides leadership and acts as a role model for the delivery of safe, effective, and efficient patient care. Oversees assignments of duties to unit personnel based on patient needs, staffing availability, occupancy trends, and competency. Assists the Director in developing and implementing department policies. Collaborates on budget development, monitoring, and control. Provides 24-hour accountability for areas including Labor & Delivery, postpartum, and newborn nursery.
- Education and Experience: Knowledge of nursing practice and theory, acquired through completion of a two-year training program at an accredited School of Nursing. BSN preferred. Minimum of 5 years healthcare experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or charge nurse role, preferably in Maternal Child services. Illinois RN license required.
- Ideal Candidate: Previous management experience in Maternal Child Health within a hospital setting, with 5+ years of experience, and an Illinois RN license. Demonstrated ability to manage staff and department productivity effectively.
