ResponsibilitiesDrives sales by ensuring effective merchandise presentation, accurate and competitive pricing, proper inventory, and area cleanliness. Assesses economic trends and community needs while overseeing stocking and rotation of merchandise, setting up cleaning and organizing product displays, and securing fragile and high‑shrink merchandise. Leads and develops teams by teaching, training, actively listening to associates, touring stores, and providing feedback. Communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, leveraging technology and business initiatives to implement solutions.
Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards using the One Best Way (OBW) service model, managing and supporting customer service initiatives. Resolves customer needs, complaints, and issues, develops and implements action plans to correct deficiencies, and provides process improvement leadership. Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates, hiring, training, mentoring, and performance management. Controls unexplained merchandise loss, identifies performance goals, and ensures the implementation of inventory controls.
Detects, deters, investigates, and resolves violations of company policies and criminal activities. Conducts investigations, gathers evidence, writes case reports, and provides courtroom testimony as needed. Partners with other investigative entities, monitors safety and risk controls, develops policies, and provides safety training. Manages claims and receiving operations, evaluates policies and procedures, and ensures timely processing of claims. Coordinates job‑related activities and builds accountability for meeting goals and objectives.
Supports company mission values, promotes integrity, and fosters a culture of belonging and continuous learning. Ensures compliance with company policies, the Open Door Policy, and supports Walmart’s regenerative company goals.
- Completion of 2 years of college;
- Optionally, 1 year’s experience as a supervisor in a multi‑department environment;
- Optionally, 1 year’s experience in accounting, claims, inventory control, systems/UPC, personnel, or loss prevention/asset protection;
- Optionally, 2 years’ experience in asset protection or related area;
- Successful completion of applicable state requirements to work in asset protection (e.g., age, training, certification, licensing);
- Successful completion of a criminal background check and/or firearms authorized training;
- Successful completion of job‑required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy, Open Door).
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University;
- Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University;
- Certification in an asset protection related field (e.g., Loss Prevention Qualified or Certified);
- General work experience supervising 5+ direct reports with performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing responsibilities;
- Investigative experience;
- Bachelors in Business or Criminal Justice.
