Job Duties

  • Read blueprints, electrical schematics, and drawings to understand or plan the layout of electrical systems.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, fixtures, and controls in accordance with applicable codes.
  • Diagnose electrical issues using testing devices, meters, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Sell, Install and maintain electrical service panels, breakers, disconnects, and distribution equipment.
  • Sell, Install and maintain lighting systems, switches, receptacles, GFCI/AFCI devices, and controls.
  • Sell, Install and maintain generators, transfer switches, surge protection devices, and EV charging systems.
  • Inspect electrical systems and components to identify hazards, defects, and code violations.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems in residential, commercial, and light industrial facilities.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
  • Ensure all work complies with NEC, local codes, and company standards.
  • Communicate findings, recommendations, and repair options with customers.
  • Complete service documentation, work orders, and inspection reports accurately.
  • Maintain company vehicle, tools, and inventory.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and emergency service calls as required.

Skills

  • Proven experience as a Journeyman Electrician.
  • Solid understanding of residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical systems.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Working knowledge of electrical distribution systems, service equipment, branch circuits, lighting systems, and controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues efficiently and accurately.
  • Proficiency with electrical testing equipment, including multimeters, clamp meters, megohmmeters, and circuit analyzers.
  • Ability to safely operate electrical tools and equipment.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Friendly, professional demeanor with a great deal of patience.
