Dietary Aide , Danville, PA

Position Summary

Dietary Aide is responsible for setting up the dining area and trays for meal services, adhering to food safety guidelines and following dietary restrictions based on residents’ needs.

Assists the cook in the preparation and service of meals, meeting scheduled meal times following established policies and procedures within the dietary department to ensure residents receive the highest quality of service.

• Assist the cook/supervisor with food preparation and service using specific procedures, following guidelines and regulations.
• Deliver residents’ meal carts, set and clean assigned dining area(s) to serve residents.
• Accurately record temperatures on refrigerators; clean and stock as needed.
• Wash and store dishes; adhere to overall sanitation and maintenance of the kitchen.
• Be knowledgeable of Federal, State, and community rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year food service experience preferred but not required.
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Ability to communicate clearly to all levels within the community.
• Desire and commitment to work with geriatric residents understanding their special needs.
• Must be able to follow directions and follow through on assignments.
• Ability to work with others as part of a team.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• Serv Safe certification desirable but not required.
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn, excellent customer service skills, team player.

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

$13/hour to start.

$500 sign-on bonus.

Shift: 6:30 AM-3 PM and 10:30 AM-7 PM with weekend availability.
