Aide Trainee - Danville State Hospital; 1st, 2nd 3rd shift

The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, Danville State Hospital is looking for dedicated individuals to work in our facility. We are seeking hardworking, enthusiastic, and compassionate employees to join our team. The Danville State Hospital has many opportunities for Aide Trainees. The Aide Trainee will attend training sessions designed to teach employees how to care for and support consumers in a mental health treatment setting. Training will consist of paid classroom and on-the-job training in an actual consumer setting. Upon successful completion of a six-month probationary period, the Aide Trainee will be promoted to a Psychiatric Aide (PA) with responsibility for the full scope of care and support to consumers living at the facility.

Promotion to the PA job title includes an increase in the hourly pay rate for the position.

• Full-time employment.
• Work hours:
  
  1st shift (6:45 AM to 3:15 PM), 2nd shift (2:45 PM - 11:15 PM) and 3rd shift (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • 30 min lunch for 1st & 2nd shift; no lunch for 3rd shift
  • 2nd and 3rd shifts receive shift differential
    • 2nd shift - $1.25 an hour
    • 3rd shift - $1.15 an hour
• Every other weekend rotation.
• Holidays as scheduled.
