• Setting: Hospital – Respiratory Therapy Pulmonary Unit

• End Date: May 10, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7pm–7am), 2 shifts per week
• Hours per Week: 36
• Schedule: Includes every other weekend and holiday

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from NBRC
• Minimum 1 year of hospital respiratory therapist experience
• Ability to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Assess and develop individualized respiratory care plans for patients
• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments
• Administer aerosolized medications, secretion management, pulmonary volume expansion, and oxygen therapy
• Assist with artificial airway care and maintenance
• Initiate and manage conventional and high-frequency mechanical ventilators
• Provide patient and family education on disease management
• Assist with intra-hospital transport of ventilated patients
• Manage acute airway situations and set up non-invasive monitoring devices
• Collect and process arterial blood gas samples
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
• Serve as Shift Coordinator (charge person) after one year of employment
• Assist in fiber optic bronchoscopy procedures and placement of invasive monitoring lines
• Act as a preceptor for new staff and students during clinical rotations
